It may sound a little strange but trust us, it works.
Beetroot powder is a great addition to smoothies and desserts because of its impressive nutrient profile. Aside from being low in calories and fat, beetroots are known for their role in detoxification processes in the liver and the pigment provides important anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds… And it tastes great too!
We love the creamy texture of nice cream so to keep it as thick as possible we recommend blending on a low setting to ensure you do not over blend.
3 large frozen bananas, chopped
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
1/4 cup desiccated coconut
1/2 tbsp beetroot powder
- Combine all ingredients in a high-powder blender.
- Blend slowly on a low setting to create the thick and creamy ‘ice-cream’-like texture.
- Serve as is or with your choice of fresh berries, banana cacao nibs and/or nut butter.
